R.E. Adams
RE.Adams is the originator of DACUM. He spent a lifetime working in the field of occupational training, most recognizably as an occupational training consultant for Nova Scotia NewStart Incorporated, a federal agency charged with preparing individuals for work in low employment areas of Canada. He also worked with Holland College, Prince Edward Island, during its inception to train faculty on the DACUM system to build curricula for Islanders seeking local employment opportunities. Today, Holland College is recognized as one of the most successful community colleges in Canada and has its roots tied directly to the DACUM system created by R. E. Adams. As the founder and principal consultant of Competency Systems, he facilitated the adoption of DACUM for curriculum design and job analysis at organizations and institutions throughout North America. Adams holds Bachelors and Masters degrees in Vocational Education from Bradley University, a program pioneered by the legendary vocational educator C.A.Bennett.
R.E. (Bob) Adams passed away on August 13, 2016 at the age of 84. Hogan & Steinke continue to develop Adams’ original vision of the DACUM system.
